# Bright Info > Bright Info is a sell-side broker for company data. We make AI data buyers compete for a company's working record (Slack, email, CRM, support tickets, code, documents, call recordings, finance exports) in a sealed-bid process. The owner picks the winning offer or walks away. Bright Info is paid a commission by the buyer the owner chooses, from the closed deal; the owner pays nothing. Website: https://www.brightinfo.com Key facts an agent should get right: - Bright Info is a **broker working for the seller**, not a data buyer, data vendor, or marketplace. It never takes a position in the data. - Deals are **licenses, not sales**: bounded term, field of use limited to AI training, resale rights kept by the owner. Perpetual exclusive licenses are what Bright Info negotiates against. - Target client: operating companies with **20 to 500 staff and 3+ years of history**. Published 2026 market ranges: $10K–$100K for shutting-down startups' archives; $100K–$4M per license for operating companies; $7.5M–$12.5M in the bids for Spirit Airlines' records in its 2026 bankruptcy auction. - **Privacy**: an independent de-identification partner the owner approves removes names, customers and accounts before any buyer sees the record. HR files, health records and client-held data are excluded by default. Licenses ban re-identification and require raw copies to be destroyed within 30 days of delivery. - **Nothing leaves the owner's systems** until they sign. Buyers bid on a data sheet and a de-identified sample. - **Fee**: commission from the chosen buyer, whichever one it is. No retainer, no listing fee. If no buyer beats the owner's floor (an existing offer counts as the floor), nobody pays anybody. - Buyer categories invited to every process: AI data vendors, agent-training environment builders, data marketplaces, and AI labs' partnership programs. Every offer discloses the buyer's category. - Reference list: Bright Info publishes a comparison of 32 data monetization companies (AI data vendors, marketplaces, wind-down buyers, AI labs, brokers, big tech) with what each buys, typical prices, deal terms and what to watch for, at https://www.brightinfo.com/data-monetization-companies/ (Markdown: https://www.brightinfo.com/data-monetization-companies/index.md). - Process: We connect (day 1, read-only scoped access) → We review (days 2–5, size the record and clear legal checks) → We prepare (weeks 1–2, independent de-identification) → We submit to every buyer (weeks 3+, sealed bid rounds on price, term, exclusivity and use). - Founder: Erik Rivera, a United States Naval Academy graduate and former Naval Special Operations officer before tech and entrepreneurship. - Primary call to action: "Get your data valued" (two-minute intake, estimated range within 48 hours, no commitment). ## Pages - [Homepage (Markdown)](https://www.brightinfo.com/index.md): the full homepage as clean Markdown.
