# We make AI data buyers compete for your company's data.

*For companies with 20–500 staff and 3+ years of history.*

Your Slack, email, CRM and ticket history is worth $100K to $4M to AI labs. We package it, de-identify it, and put it in front of every serious buyer in a sealed bid. You pick the offer. Or walk away.

- No fee unless you close
- Nothing leaves your systems until you sign
- You keep your data and your business

**Call to action:** Get your data valued. Two-minute intake. Estimated range in 48 hours. No commitment.

## Market facts

| Figure | Meaning |
|---|---|
| +25% | From one competing bid (Spirit Airlines bankruptcy auction, 2026: a second bidder raised the offer from $10M to $12.5M) |
| $100K–$4M | Typical license for a 20–500 person company, from buyers' published partnership ranges |
| $0 | Until a deal closes. No retainer, no listing fee |

Buyers we invite: AI data vendors · Agent-training environment builders · Data marketplaces · Lab partnership programs.

## How it works: one point of contact, every buyer in the market

You connect your systems once. We review, prepare and submit your record to every qualified buyer at the same time. Their bids come back to you. You pay nothing.

Your systems (Slack/Teams, Gmail/Outlook, HubSpot/Salesforce, Zendesk/Intercom, GitHub/Jira, Drive/Notion, call recordings, QuickBooks/NetSuite) connect to Bright Info, a single point of contact. One packaged, de-identified data sheet goes out to every bidder. Each bidder sends a sealed bid back into Bright Info.

1. **We connect** (day 1). You tell us which systems you run and for how long. Read-only, scoped access, nothing copied out. Two minutes.
2. **We review** (days 2–5). We size the record, check employee notices, customer contracts and software terms, and tell you what it should draw.
3. **We prepare** (weeks 1–2). An independent partner you approve strips names, customers and accounts. HR, health and client-held data stay out by default.
4. **We submit to every buyer** (weeks 3+). One data sheet goes to every qualified buyer at once. They bid in sealed rounds on price, term and exclusivity. You pick, or walk away.

## What comes back: offers side by side

Every offer shows price, license term, exclusivity and who de-identifies the data. Your existing offer, if you have one, is the floor.

Illustrative example of a bid round (not a real deal) for a record of Slack (9 years), CRM (40K records), support tickets and email (6 years):

| Bidder | Terms | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Agent-training environment builder | 2-year license · non-exclusive | $585,000 |
| AI data vendor | 3-year license · non-exclusive | $540,000 |
| Expert-data company | Perpetual · exclusive | $610,000 |
| Data marketplace | Revenue share · non-exclusive | $120K + 40% |
| Wind-down data buyer | Outright purchase | $310,000 |

## "So I pay nothing?"

Right. We take a commission from the buyer you choose. Whichever one. It makes no difference to us which offer wins, so we have no reason to steer you. If no buyer beats your floor, nobody pays anybody, and you have lost two minutes.

- No retainer
- No listing fee
- Commission paid by the buyer, from the closed deal

## Sound familiar? You got an offer for your data. One number, one buyer, a 14-day clock.

Buyers who come to you directly are counting on you not knowing what the record is worth or who else would pay for it.

- **One buyer sets the price.** It is their number, not the market's. With nobody bidding against them, the offer is the floor and the ceiling at once.
- **The license is forever, and exclusive.** Perpetual, exclusive terms are the default in a direct offer. Sign one and you can never license the same record again.
- **They resell it to the labs and keep the spread.** Most direct buyers are middlemen. The AI lab pays them a multiple of what they paid you, and you never find out which lab.

## One buyer means one price. Theirs.

| | Selling to one buyer | Selling with Bright Info |
|---|---|---|
| Offers | One | Every qualified buyer, in sealed rounds |
| Who sets the price | The buyer | The market |
| License | Often perpetual and exclusive | Bounded term, field of use, resale rights kept |
| De-identification | Done by the buyer, after transfer | Independent partner you approve, before anything moves |
| End buyer | Undisclosed | Category disclosed in every offer |
| Timeline | Offer expires in 14 days | Your schedule |

## What buyers pay for: the working record of your business

AI labs need real decisions, escalations and handoffs to train agents. Years of history and visible reasoning move the price more than raw volume. If you have run any of these systems for three years or more, you have something buyers are already paying for.

- Team chat: Slack, Microsoft Teams
- Email: Gmail, Outlook archives
- CRM history: HubSpot, Salesforce
- Support tickets: Zendesk, Intercom, Freshdesk
- Code and tickets: GitHub, GitLab, Jira, Linear
- Docs and drives: Google Drive, Notion, SharePoint
- Call recordings: sales and support calls
- Finance and ERP: QuickBooks, NetSuite exports

## Published market ranges, 2026

Ranges buyers and court filings have disclosed this year. Your number depends on history, systems and how much reasoning the record shows.

| Who | Range | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Closing startups | $10K–$100K | Per company, for workspace and code archives of shutting-down startups |
| Operating companies, 20–500 staff | $100K–$4M | Per license, from buyers' published partnership ranges. This is who we work with |
| Large enterprises | $7.5M–$12.5M | Bids for Spirit Airlines' records in its 2026 bankruptcy auction |

## Terms we fight for: price is half the deal

A higher number on a perpetual exclusive license can be worth less than a lower one you can sell again. We negotiate both.

- **License, not sale.** You keep ownership and the right to use your data as before.
- **Bounded term and field of use.** A set number of years, for AI training only, so you can license again.
- **No re-identification.** Buyers commit not to re-link data to people, intentionally or by negligence.
- **Limits on onward transfer.** Resale only to approved categories of buyer, disclosed to you.
- **Raw copies deleted.** Unprocessed data destroyed within 30 days of delivery.
- **Sensitive data excluded.** HR files, health records and data you hold for clients stay out by default.

## Why we built Bright Info

*You should never have to take the first offer for something you built.*

Before tech and entrepreneurship, I was a Naval Special Operations officer and a graduate of the United States Naval Academy. That background shapes how we run a process: clear rules, every party accountable, and the people on our side of the table protected first.

We started Bright Info after watching owners accept one buyer's number for years of their company's work, on a license that meant they could never sell it again. The fix is not complicated. Make the buyers compete, keep the terms bounded, and get paid only when the owner does.

## FAQ: selling company data to AI companies

### Is it legal to sell my company's data to AI companies?
Usually, with care. Holding data is not the same as having the right to license it. Before anything goes to market we check employee notices and handbooks, customer and vendor contracts, NDAs, union agreements and the terms of the software the data came from. Sensitive categories stay out by default, and your counsel signs off before any buyer sees a sample.

### How much is my company's data worth?
Published 2026 ranges run from $10K to $100K for the archives of shutting-down startups, $100K to $4M per license for operating companies with 20 to 500 staff, and $7.5M to $12.5M in the bids for Spirit Airlines' records in its bankruptcy auction. Years of history, the number of systems, and how much reasoning the record shows move the price more than raw volume.

### What kind of company data do AI companies buy?
The working record of how a business runs: team chat (Slack, Microsoft Teams), email archives, CRM history, support tickets, code with its tickets and docs, shared drives, call recordings and finance exports. Spirit Airlines' package was about 100 million emails, 500 million Teams messages and 30 million lines of code, with passenger and personal data excluded.

### Who buys company data for AI training?
Four kinds of buyer: AI data vendors who supply the labs, builders of agent-training environments, data marketplaces, and the labs' own partnership programs. The public bidders for Spirit Airlines' records were Google, Mercor and Micro1. Every offer you receive through Bright Info names the buyer's category.

### How do I sell my company's data to AI companies?
Connect, review, prepare, submit. You tell us which systems you run and for how long. We size the record, clear the legal checks and have an independent partner you approve strip names, customers and accounts. One data sheet then goes to every qualified buyer at once, they bid in sealed rounds, and you pick the offer or walk away.

### What is a data monetization company, and how is Bright Info different?
Most [data monetization companies](https://www.brightinfo.com/data-monetization-companies/) either buy your data outright or resell it on their own terms, so they are on the other side of the table. Bright Info is a sell-side broker. We never take a position in your data. Buyers compete for it and we negotiate price, term and exclusivity on your side.

### What about my employees' and customers' privacy?
Identifying fields are removed by an independent de-identification partner you approve before any buyer sees the record. HR files, health records and data you hold for clients are excluded by default. Every license bans re-identification, intentional or negligent, and requires raw copies to be destroyed within 30 days of delivery.

### Do I sell my data or license it? Exclusive or non-exclusive?
License, almost always. A sale or a perpetual exclusive license means you can never offer the same record again. We push for a bounded term, a field of use limited to AI training, and resale rights that stay with you. A higher number on a perpetual exclusive can be worth less than a lower one you can license twice.

### Does my data leave my systems before I accept an offer?
No. Scoping uses read-only, scoped access and nothing is copied out. Buyers bid on a data sheet and a de-identified sample. The full record moves only after you sign, and only to the buyer you chose.

### What does Bright Info charge?
Nothing to you. We take a commission from the buyer you choose, whichever one it is, out of the closed deal. No retainer, no listing fee. If no buyer beats your floor, nobody pays anybody.

### Can I bring an offer I already have?
Yes, and you should. A standing offer becomes the floor of the auction. If nobody beats it, you take it and owe us nothing.

### How long does it take to sell company data?
Most processes run a few weeks from intake to signed license: a few days to scope and review, one to two weeks to prepare, then the bid rounds. Payment follows on the buyer's terms, which we negotiate up front.

### Can I sell data from a company that is shutting down?
Yes. Wind-down archives are the most active segment of this market today, with published deals of $10K to $100K per company. The same process applies, and the legal review is often simpler because employee and customer relationships have already ended.
